About Us

This valiant community chorus has developed the talents of local unauditioned singers, nurtured members from the ages of 14 through more than 85, and has kept the choral art alive in northeast Connecticut for 65 years. A series of gifted directors has maintained excellence for the choir, including founder Warren Geissinger, Daniel Graves (now director of choral studies at Earlham College), Lucinda Mosher, Nancy Crane, Neely Bruce (director of choral activities at Wesleyan), Michael McCarthy, Ben Davidson, and David Belles.

Since 1959, The Concert Choir of Northeastern Connecticut has brought the best of the classical choral repertoire to the community in its two concerts annually.

The trajectory of The Concert Choir, along with its financial health, has been secure even under the leadership of a revolving volunteer board. The miracle is that this band of singers has persisted in the wilds of north-eastern Connecticut for 65 years, presenting the best of the choral repertoire to the wider community, upholding a standard that has prompted wildly positive comment from the most practiced and sophisticated listeners, including players from the Hartford Symphony.

Celebrating beautiful Northeastern Connecticut with music.
